We’ve received some questions from people looking for “Avril Lavigne green & pink hair” asking what colors to buy to match her color. What products do you think were used? We’re guessing Manic Panic Electric Lizard and Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink for this look.
Another popular pink that should match is Special Effects Atomic Pink. There are several options available to get similar results, but I think this should do it!

We came across this helpful video on youtube where Zoeebella demonstrates a technique to dye her bangs pink using Special Effects Cupcake Pink.

In the video she uses a rat tail comb to section her bangs from the rest of her hair, tying the remaining hair back away from her face. She then uses tape on her forehead along her hairline to help prevent color from getting on her skin, with just a dab of vaseline or stain barrier creme around the tape, being careful not to get any in your hair (or the color will not absorb). Then she uses a piece of aluminum foil on her forhead, taping it down along her hairline below her bangs allowing the it to rest down over her face. This will help with the application of the hair dye to give more control and avoid making a mess on your skin. She lays her bangs down onto the foil and applies the dye thoroughly with a tint brush, and then carefully folds the foil up toward her hairline keeping her bangs tucked inside the foil to let the hair dye do it’s magic. This is a great method for keeping the dye away from your face while you wait for it to be ready to rinse out. Leave the product on for 30 minutes and rinse with cold water for best results. Danea was kind enough to share an awesome youtube video with us! TwiggX, a favorite Swedish model does a demonstration of how she colors her extreme hair using La Riche Directions Turquoise and Apple Green. It’s such an awesome color, and great tutorial, check it out!

I have to admit I get excited every time I see the trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs. the world because of the cute girl with dyed hair. How can you not love her hair! I really like her hair cut too. Anyway, I normally like Michael Cera movies so I think I’ll have to check this one out. I hope it will convert some new hair dyers It makes me wonder what other movies have main characters with dyed hair. I’m sure there are a ton. I can’t think of any others offhand besides Ghost World, though. Anyway, check out the trailer, I just really like her hair!

Here is a video I came across that I thought was very well done! She shows us how she achieved her colorful “scene hair” using La Riche Directions hair dye. The color she is using is Turquoise. It’s a great example of what the color will turn out like and some of the basic steps to take when dying your hair. Love this color!
